Ryder Cup 2014
Gleneagles Scotland

For those who have a passion for golf, the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, Scotland is the place to be from 25th September. Our company was once again awarded the contract for providing radio systems and audio facilities at this prestigious event, facilities we have been providing at the European staged Ryder Cups since 1981.

Working on site for over three weeks are staff and engineers from our Event division, Onsite Communications, they have been busy installing many different radio networks to cover the challenging 2014 course, specially designed to stage the 2014 Ryder Cup. Engineers have also installed audio/interview facilities in areas such as the huge Media Centre at Gleneagles and in hospitality units dotted around the course.

We are providing a hotline for Paul McGinley and his deputies along with a similar system for rival team Captain Tom Watson. Radio communications has proved vital in keeping both teams’ captains updated on the progress of their teams, out on the course.

Onsite Communications MD, Barrie Litchfield, said “ This year's Ryder Cup is the biggest yet and planning of all radio communications, for this event, has taken over six months with frequency co-ordination being an important ingredient in keeping the communications interference free. The world’s media, who descended on the huge Press facility, expect the highest quality audio at the press interviews, a professional service at which we have become adept whilst supplying other major sporting events over the years”.
